THANK YOU FOR VOLUNTEERING!

Your contribution to the growth and development of athletes and young people is invaluable and comes with a lot of responsibility.

All of our athletes deserve qualified, screened, and trained coaches.

All team staff have different certification requirements that are dependent on the age division, level, and staff position.

The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) provides standardized, inclusive, and safe sport education to coaches and coach developers in "multi-sport"

Ringette Canada provides sport specific training. 

Coaches will need to create profiles in both NCCP My Locker AND Coaching Ringette Canada

The following applies to ALL team staff:

(Managers, Junior Coaches, On Ice Assistants, Trainers, and Coaches)

• Registration with Park Ringette in RAMP with:

• Valid CRC/VSC uploaded

• NCCP number entered

• Completion of the NCCP Safe Sport Training

FOR COACHES; Certification Requirements in addition to the above:

All Coaches, from Active Start to U19 as well as On Ice Helpers, also require the following:

• CIS Coach Initiation in Sport e-Module

• Making Head Way in Sport

Depending on age divisions and level, Requirements in addition to the above:

U10, U12B/C coaches must be "CSI Trained"

• Making Ethical Decisions course and evaluation

• Ringette Community Coach workshop 

• (formerly called Community Sport Initiation or "CSI")

U12A, U14A/B, U16A/B coaches must be "CI Trained"

• Making Ethical Decisions course

• Ringette Competition Introduction workshop

U14C, U16C coaches must be either "CSI Trained" or "CI Trained"

U14AA, U16AA/A, U19AA/A coaches must be "CI Certified" 

• Making Ethical Decisions course and evaluation

• Ringette Competition Introduction Evaluation

U16AA and U19AA coaches must be "CI Certified + CD module"

• will need to complete any "new to you" Competition Development multi-sport module per season

Trainers

To be a trainer, Standard First Aid or higher is required.

• A copy of the first aid training, professional registration, or other certification paperwork must be submitted via Ringette Alberta's form
